Sunday 30th April 2017 - Beadlam Charity Tractor Run

The 2017 Beadlam Charity Tractor Run is to be held on Sunday 30th April, so keep your fingers crossed for a sunny day! This extremely successful event began in 2003 and was the inspiration of Mr Bernard Simpson from Beadlam. He thought this could be an excellent way to raise money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance which is such an asset in our rural area. It was originally planned as a one-off event with a group of 35 tractors. However, due to its ever-increasing popularity this tractor run has gone from strength to strength. The Yorkshire Air Ambulance has benefitted from over £75,000 donated over the last 12 years and brings a touch of excitement to the day by landing their helicopter for all to see at Beadlam Grange Farm before the tractors leave at 9.45am (subject to no emergency call-outs). There will be the opportunity to see inside the helicopter and meet the crew!! We are expecting a huge turnout of tractors – last year saw 220 – and the 50 mile route covers 19 local villages. You can expect to see vintage, classic and modern tractors including makes and models you wouldn’t normally see on North Yorkshire’s roads. They really are a sight not to be missed.
